Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSC) Info Day at FAU University

Info Day at FAU

In June 2016 I had the opportunity to participate as invited speaker to the Info Day organized by FAU University in Erlangen. The event was dedicated to EU funding programs of the European Research Council (ERC) and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSC) Actions.

The involvement of experts of KoWi, the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations, provided updated and technical information about both programs. In detail, explanation about available grants, structure of the calls and differences between them were provided to the audience.

Due to my role as current MSC fellow, I tried to tell my experience. In my opinion, when you start writing a MSC proposal, most relevant concerns regard where to find the right information.  Especially relevant is to read and follow the updated guidelines of the call. Then, according to  me, a technical question is how to submit the proposal. So, you must be familiar with the European portal available for on-line submission.

Moreover, you must look through the guidelines and familiarize with the terminology. In addition, remember that a MSC-IF call is not only about research. Also training and dissemination activities play an important role.

In conclusion, do it!!!! Write your proposal and submit it, once you found a supportive supervisor. If your project is directly funded, you can start your work. If not, be patient! You can learn a lot by the evaluation report: use it for improving your proposal!!!
